A little time by the Connecticut River.

Above is the Schooner "Mary E." which sails out of of Essex. For information on how to take a ride on her Click here.

Thursday I needed to drop some information off at the Connecticut River Museum in lovely Essex Village, Connecticut. It was such a beautiful afternoon that day I decided to stick around at take a few photos and enjoy the sunshine and all the boats traveling by on the Connecticut River.

A very small lighthouse.

The Connecticut River Museum has a beautiful green lawn and a park with a walkway along side the riverfront with benches to sit and relax. The building suffered a fire last year, but due to rigorous fund raising the repairs are complete for this summer. Painters were painting away outside in the back while I was there. The walkway in front of the Connecticut River Museum is a fun place to sit and relax.

A poster on the side wall of the Museum announces "410 miles of water, 450 years of history."

The entrance to the Connecticut River Museum is at the end of Main St in Essex by a cul-de-sac which literally ends at the riverfront.

The sailboats on the river have moorings instead of docks at the marina.
